Karachi: The Department of College Education Sindh has formed a fact-finding committee on the issue of failure of the majority of female and male students in the results of inter-year 1 under the Karachi Board, however, this committee includes a principal or senior professors of good reputation in Karachi. The persons who have been included in the committee do not have much experience in examinations and assessment, due to which no specific results are expected, Professor Mustafa Kamal, who recently took over the post of Regional Director Colleges, is the convener of the committee. has been appointed while other members include Additional Secretary Colleges (HR), Director Monitoring and Evaluation Ijaz Ali Sethu, Associate Javed Chana and Associate Idris Ahmed.
According to the notification signed by Secretary Colleges Education Sadaf Sheikh, the committee can add more members, the committee will submit its report in 7 days.
It should be noted that this committee has been formed about 10 days after the release of the results and the students who have failed in other faculties including pre-medical and pre-engineering in inter-year 1 are protesting over their results.
Inter Board Karachi has not yet formed any committee on this matter to investigate the matter and find out the reasons for it, which is causing constant frustration among the students.
On Thursday too, a certain number of students protested inside the inter board, while the administration of the inter board is giving only partial consolation to the students on the instructions of the Commissioner Karachi.
Students are being encouraged to apply for scrutiny and then see, however, it should be noted that there is not enough scope in scrutiny under the board law to process the legal and legitimate complaints of students because scrutiny only involves re-totaling and assessment. Remaining questions and answers are included, but the teacher’s assessment method is not reviewed and there is no critical analysis.
It should be noted that the situation of the board is different at the moment, the commissioner Karachi has the charge of the chairman board who runs the board from the commissioner house Karachi, issues orders over the phone and does not go to the board.
