Karachi: Terrible results of the release of the controversial results of Inter-Year 1 2023 by Higher Education Secondary Board Karachi are coming out and due to the failure of the majority of students in these results, the doors of professional education have almost closed on the students of Karachi.

Thousands of students will not be able to take admissions in engineering and medical courses at the end of this year and next year as NED University gives admissions in all pre-engineering streams on the basis of inter-year results.

For these admissions, only those students who have passed the inter-year first with at least 60% marks are eligible to appear in the Aptitude Test, while for the Pre-Medical Aptitude Test it is also necessary for the students to pass in the Intermediate. The marks obtained are 60% so the question is echoing that how will Karachi students of this batch become doctors and engineers.

In the recent results, the number of inter-first year passers with 60% and above marks is limited as the success ratio in inter-first year medical is around 36% while in pre-engineering is 34% and 64% and 66% in both faculties respectively. Percentage of students passed.

It should be noted that due to the failure of such a large number of students, these students will not be eligible to apply for pre-engineering admissions.

When contacted by “Express”, the Pro-Chancellor of NED University, Dr. Tufail Ahmed, not only confirmed this situation, but he also expressed deep concern over this issue. Based on the results of the first year.

He said that the number of students who got 60 percent and above marks in pre-medical and pre-engineering is very limited compared to last year and there is a fear that the university has a very limited number of forms for admission and students As the result ratio decreases along with the number, the admission merit will also come down while a large number of students will not be able to apply for the admissions.

It should be noted that according to the data received by “Express” regarding the recent results of the first inter-year, only 4567 students have passed in pre-engineering with 60% and above marks, while the number is 6863 in pre-medical. And in Computer Science, only 3123 students have secured 60% or more marks. In these three faculties, there are a total of 14553 students who have secured more than 60% marks in the first inter year.

“Express” also contacted the Vice Chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Dr. Siraj Memon, to which he said that the required qualification for admission to MBBS is 60% marks in pre-medical, if the result ratio If it is less, its effects may come on the next year’s admissions.

It should be noted that both students who pass and fail the exam with low marks face serious challenges to get admission in the important BBS and professional engineering degree.

Commenting on this situation, the principal of a government college said that the general perception is that students who have passed with very low marks in basic science subjects will not bring their passing percentage to that extent in the second year results. That they can apply for MBBS admissions.

Explaining the reason for this, he said that to improve their percentage, these students have to give only the papers of the second inter-year, while the very low passing percentage of the first inter-year will also be reflected in their intermediate results, while those students who Inter 1st year fail is more difficult for them as they have to give papers of all science subjects of both year i.e. 1st year and 2nd year which is very difficult task for a common student.

It should be noted that Karachi’s famous PECHS College, Sir Syed College, Government College SRE Majeed, St. Lawrence College, DJ Science College, Adamji Science College, Islamia Science College, Government Science College, Cantt and P.E. There are many colleges including CHS Foundation where students fail in most science subjects.

It should be remembered that currently the three positions of chairman, secretary and moderator of the examinations are vacant in Inter Board Karachi. Charges for examinations and issues a new office order every two weeks.

It should be remembered that the protest on behalf of the affected students of the first year of inter-year is continuing and hundreds of students protested outside the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday as well. These students also tried to go to the commissioner’s office, but they were stopped by the police.

On the other hand, from Wednesday, January 17, on the instructions of the Karachi Commissioner, applications for scrutiny are to be submitted to the Inter Board, but without a high-level committee, it is considered unlikely to get results from this scrutiny.
