Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf also lost the minority seats in the national and provincial assemblies after women’s seats.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has released the final lists of minority candidates for the general elections 2024, according to which the PTI has been eliminated from the race for specific seats in the national and provincial assemblies.
The Election Commission has validated the nomination papers of 37 candidates for 10 specific seats in the National Assembly, while the minority candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf are not included in the list. The list of minority candidates was given to the Election Commission by PTI, but the Election Commission declared the PTI intra-party elections null and void.
Later, the Supreme Court of Pakistan, after hearing the arguments of the parties in the hearing, reinstated the decision of the Election Commission and ordered the withdrawal of election symbols from PTI, as a result of which the PTI reserved seats for women. Later, the minority seats have also been lost.
