The advisory of the National Institute of Health regarding the new variant of Covid-19, JN1, has been released

The National Institute of Health Islamabad has issued an advisory regarding the new variant JN1 of Covid-19.

According to the NIH, the purpose of the advisory is to inform relevant authorities and stakeholders regarding precautionary measures. As a result of the new Covid-19 variant, the pressure on OPDs and wards of hospitals may increase.

The NIH states that the JN1 variant is rapidly replacing other Covid-19 variants worldwide. Currently, no cases of the new variant have been reported in Pakistan.

According to the NIH, preventive measures against Covid include washing hands with soap and using sanitizer. Avoid going to crowded places to avoid Covid and other lung related viruses.

According to the NIH, vaccines are still the best way to prevent Covid.
