Karachi: The annual development program of Karachi Municipal Corporation was monitored for the first time, 201 schemes out of 683 ongoing schemes of KMC were reviewed while scams in ongoing development schemes costing billions of rupees were revealed at the official level.
Development and planning department teams found out the substandard works of KMC, out of 683 ongoing schemes of KMC only 201 schemes were reviewed, out of 201 schemes only 45 schemes could be improved, 156 schemes I was messed up.
Non-standard maintained, 121 projects of road sector, flyover, sewerage in 156 schemes were declared non-standard, not even one rupee could be spent in 76 schemes for the convenience of the people.
The Department of Planning and Development says that a lot can be learned by monitoring more schemes, the condition of the development schemes of Karachi is worse than the schemes of rural Sindh.
201 schemes were evaluated by the team of P&D department in which 45 were declared as standard and 156 as non-standard.
