Polio virus was confirmed in the environmental samples of 6 more districts of Pakistan.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, 4 samples from Karachi, 2 samples from Chaman, one sample each from Peshawar, Kohat and Nowshera have been found.

In this regard, the caretaker federal health minister Dr. Nadeem Jan says that the polio virus belongs to the YB2A virus cluster in Afghanistan.

He said that every child is at risk due to the presence of polio virus, children under 5 years of age can be crippled by this virus for life.

Dr. Nadeem Jan said that there is no cure for polio, only vaccine provides protection to children, so parents are requested to welcome the polio workers who come to their homes and protect their children from life-long disability. Be sure to administer polio drops.

The Caretaker Federal Health Minister also said that the polio surveillance system is working effectively in Pakistan, the government is ensuring integrated measures to eradicate polio.
