1 person died of a very rare infectious disease in Islamabad.
According to the officials, the young man died of leptospirosis at Pims Hospital in Islamabad.
Dr. Naseem Akhtar says that leptospirosis is a disease transmitted from animals to humans, 2 people have been affected by this infection, one of whom died.
Officials said that diagnostic test for leptospirosis is not available in PIMs and National Institute of Health Islamabad.
Dr Naseem Akhtar says that leptospirosis antibody test conducted by Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, modern laboratories and drugs are needed to fight new diseases.
Experts have said that leptospirosis is a disease spread by animal waste after floods.
According to officials, necessary medicines for monkey pox, diphtheria and other diseases are not available in Islamabad’s Pims Hospital.
Officials also say that dog bite vaccine is also not available at Pimms Hospital.
