Australia’s aggressive batsman Glenn Maxwell has claimed the record for the fastest century in the history of the World Cup.
Maxwell broke South Africa’s Eden Markram’s record for the fastest century, which he scored against Sri Lanka in this event.
Markram scored a 49-ball century against Sri Lanka, which was the record for the fastest century in World Cup history.
However, in the match against the Netherlands, Glenn Maxwell crossed the 100 mark just 9 balls before i.e. 40 balls. His innings included 9 fours and 8 sixes.
It should be noted that this is also the fourth fastest century in the history of ODI cricket.
In the list of fastest ODI century scorers, South Africa’s AB de Villiers is first, New Zealand’s Corey Anderson is second and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi is third.
