Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Lahore Qalandars Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza Butt says that Lahore Qalandars will have to play better cricket than before to defend the title. A team needs to be a champion.
In a special interview to Geo News in Karachi, Sikander Raza Butt said that one match was won by one run, the second match was won by two runs, what could be a tougher competition? In the beginning, such great matches are very beneficial for the league.
The Sialkot-born Zimbabwean star cricketer has represented Karachi Kings in 2018 and this time he is part of Lahore Qalandars.
Sikandar Raza Butt says that he is happy to be a part of Qalandars in Pakistan Super League, once again it feels good to come to Pakistan for cricket because the players are taken care of here.
Sikandar Raza Butt said that he doesn’t let these emotions dominate cricket because Pakistan is the country of his birth, rather he prefers to play cricket with logic.
Talking about Lahore Qalandars Sikandar Raza Butt said that he is happy to be a part of this franchise, Lahore Qalandars participated in the campaign to defend the title which is quite a pleasure.
He said that if the title is to be defended, they have to play better cricket than before. The team has the potential to become a champion, the atmosphere of the franchise is very strong, hopefully the team will play well in the season.
He says that Pakistan Super League has started very well, there were two big good matches in the beginning. This is very good for the tournament, matches like this make the fans more excited for the tournament.
To a question, he said that the quality of Pakistan Super League is the best among all the leagues he has played so far. IPL is not played till now, will go to play now and then watch the cricket there, but the whole world believes that PSL is one of the two best leagues in the world.
When asked what are his personal goals this season? So he said that he will keep his personal goals to himself, will not say anything about it, but will definitely try to make Lahore a champion once again and fulfill whatever responsibility he gets with integrity.
Sikandar said that he is happy but also feels responsible for the place he is getting in Zimbabwe because of his game.
He said that he will try to play an exemplary role for Zimbabwean cricket by sending a positive message to the youth and do everything in the right way.
He said that 2022 was very good for him, may 2023 be even better.
