A case of polio virus has been reported from Gadap area of Karachi.

According to health department sources, polio virus has been confirmed in a 24-month-old child in Karachi’s Eastern District.

A child has been infected with wild polio virus at UC Gujru in Gadap.

This year, the number of polio-affected patients in Pakistan has increased to 4.

The first case of polio virus has been reported in Sindh since 2020, investigations are ongoing on where the virus originated from.

This virus is similar to the virus circulating in Afghanistan.
