Polio virus has been confirmed in one of the samples taken from 3 areas of Rawalpindi city of Punjab province.
According to the Health Department, the samples for the polio test were taken from Sarai Kala, Dhok Dalal and Rawalpindi City.

Rawalpindi Health Department and WHO have decided to start a polio campaign in the affected areas.
According to the Rawalpindi Health Department, the link of the polio virus present in Dhok Dalal’s samples has been found with Afghanistan, the presence of the virus in the sample report is alarming.
The Rawalpindi Health Department says that it has been decided to start an emergency anti-polio campaign from October 30 to November 6.
