90% of heart bypass surgeries across the country have been postponed in the last 2 weeks due to non-availability of oxygen netters.
According to the sources, medical equipments are not being imported due to depreciation of rupee and issuance of LC, Caretaker Health Minister of Punjab has admitted that there is a significant decrease in heart bypass surgeries due to lack of oxygen netters.
He said that DRAP has assured that more than a thousand oxygen netters that were stuck at the ports due to financial problems will be released today.
It should be noted that an oxygenator is an essential component of heart bypass surgery, which is used to keep a person alive during surgery.
