In view of the possible threat of Nipah virus, Sindh Health Department has issued an alert.
In Karachi, Director General Health Sindh has written a letter to all the hospitals and has directed the medical superintendents, directors and livestock department of hospitals across Sindh to be alert.
According to the health department, the Nipah virus spreads rapidly from animals to humans and then from humans to humans. Early symptoms of the virus include fever, head and body aches and coma, among other symptoms.
According to the Health Department, no case of Nipah virus has been reported in Sindh so far.
