Vision affected by fake injections in Multan, Sadiqabad too

After Lahore and Kasur, Multan and Sadiqabad have also reported cases of eye damage due to eye injections.

A case has been registered against two accused Naveed and Hafiz Bilal, who sold fake injections, in the complaint of the Chief Drug Controller.

Caretaker Federal Minister of Health Dr. Nadeem Jan said in a news conference that the illegal manufacturing unit in Model Town has been sealed and all goods have been taken from the market.

He said that a committee has been formed to investigate the matter, the committee will give its report in 3 days, the batch of this drug has been removed from the market, it is not allowed to be sold in the market.

Dr. Nadeem Jan says that it will also be investigated whether anyone has been affected by this drug in the past, the investigation will be done in a transparent manner and will be presented to the public.

The federal minister said that the patients affected by the drug will also be treated, the best medical facilities will be provided to the victims.

On the other hand, caretaker minister of Punjab Jamal Nasir has said that the names of 20 infected people have been received by the Punjab Health Department, they have been sent to the lab to conduct the injection test, the reports will come in 2 to 3 days.

He said that the data of other accused involved in this dirty business is also being collected, this drug has been used for a long time and the rate of profit is high, this injection makes a multinational company, the drug has a good reputation. The company distributes, of this 100 mg injection, the patient needs a dose of 1.2 mg.

Jamal Nasir says that these are cruel people who used to earn Rs. 1.1 lakh on each injection. In Ga, Multan and Sadiqabad, cases of people being affected by this drug have also been reported. People affected by fake eye injections are under treatment.

Accused Bilal was discharged from the hospital under the same charges.

They also say that accused Bilal was an ex-employee of a big private hospital, accused Bilal was expelled from the hospital under the same charges, Bilal supplied injections in Kasur.

Accused had manufactured drugs without license, FIR

According to the text of the FIR, the accused had manufactured and stocked drugs without license, the accused sold the drugs in violation of Drape Act 2012.

It should be noted that yesterday the news was revealed by the health department that 40 patients’ eyes were affected and 12 people lost their sight due to fake injections.
