The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has not yet issued the NOC for the issuance of visas to the Pakistan Cricket Squad to participate in the Cricket World Cup 2023.
Sources say that the visas of the squad are getting delayed due to non-observation certificate (NOC).
Sources related to the visas said that the papers of the 25-member squad were sent two weeks ago, and the Indian High Commission needs its Home Ministry’s NOC to issue visas.
Sources said that the passports were submitted on return home from the Asia Cup, Pakistan is the only team which has not been issued Indian visas yet.
Sources said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had also contacted the International Cricket Council (ICC) in this regard, to which the world body of cricket replied that the visas are being worked on and will be issued soon.
Sources also said that this same answer is being given again and again by the ICC.
It should be noted that as per the initial plan, the national squad was to go to India after staying in Dubai, due to the delay in visas, the squad will now arrive in India via Dubai on September 26.
Sources said that the PCB expects the visas to be issued by Monday.
