Islamabad: The Ministry of Law and other parties have filed a review petition against the Supreme Court’s decision to invalidate the Supreme Court Review of Judgments and Orders Act and have also sought 15 days’ time to submit additional documents.
According to Express News, the Ministry of Law, taking a stand in the petition, has called the decision against the principles of justice, and has requested the Supreme Court to review the decision of August 11.
The government sought 15 days’ time for additional documents in the revision application, on which sources say that the Registrar’s Office has given 15 days’ time for additional documents.
It should be remembered that the Supreme Court declared the Review of Judgments and Orders Act null and void on 11 August. Article 184(3) of the Review Act provided a right of appeal to the aggrieved party against the decision of the cases.
