80 female players have called a strike over the president of the Spanish Football Federation kissing a female player.

According to a statement released by the Women’s Players’ Union (Futpro), 80 other women players, including Jenny Hermoso, have announced that they will continue the strike until the current leadership of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is dismissed.

It should be noted that the women’s players’ union made this announcement after the current president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, issued an apology and refused to resign from his position.

Luis Rubiales, 46, said in a statement that he was “ecstatic” after Spain’s sensational victory in the Women’s World Cup final, which seemed normal at the time but later became a problem.

Admitting his mistake, he added, “I must apologize and learn from this incident. I must understand that when you are in the position of president, you have to show more responsibility.”

However, Luis Rubiales apologized and said that he had sought permission from the female player before kissing, including Jenny Hermoso’s consent, after which the controversy escalated.

The female player, Jenny Hermoso, later made it clear in her released statement that it did not involve her consent, but rather that she felt intimidated and harassed at the time.

It should be noted that according to the statement issued by the Women Players’ Union (Futpro), all 23 women players who won the World Cup, including other 80 players, have announced a strike.

These female athletes include national and international level players and according to them such unacceptable incidents tarnish the success of female athletes.

They say that as long as the current leadership remains in place, all the striking players will not be part of any national squad.

On the other hand, according to the statement issued by FIFA, it will be seen whether this action is against FIFA’s disciplinary and conduct article 13 or not.

FIFA says that it firmly adheres to the right of every individual to freedom and self-determination and strongly condemns any action to the contrary.

It should be noted that on Sunday, August 20, in the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup hosted jointly by New Zealand and Australia, after a sensational match, the Spanish team won the title of world champion for the first time by defeating the England team 0-1. was

When the team’s player Jenny Hermoso came to meet the president of the federation Luis Rubiales at the prize distribution ceremony of the World Cup final, she first hugged the player and then kissed him, which is being heavily criticized.
