After the confirmation of the case of polio virus in Lahore, it was decided to start an anti-polio campaign in 39 districts of the country.
According to the spokesman of the health department, the campaign to administer polio vaccine to more than 60 lakh children is starting from tomorrow.
Federal Minister of Health Abdul Qadir Patil said in this regard that special anti-polio campaign will be conducted from 13 to 17 February in 9 districts.
He said that a partial anti-polio campaign will be conducted in 30 districts of the country, an overall campaign will also be conducted in 2 districts of Punjab, Lahore and Faisalabad.
Abdul Qadir Patel further informed that anti-polio campaign will be conducted in 7 districts of South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which include Bannu, DI Khan, Tank, Lucky Marwat, North Waziristan, Upper and Lower South Waziristan.
Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel also says that the cooperation of parents is very important to eradicate polio from the country.
