Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) demanded the Election Commission to hold by-elections on March 19 instead of March 16.
PTI leader Asad Umar said that polling on a working day may disenfranchise a large number of voters, even if a local holiday is decided, there is a possibility of negative impact on the turnout.
Asad Umar said that a minor change in the election date will encourage voter participation, the Election Commission should revise its schedule.
He said that the Election Commission should conduct elections in 33 constituencies on Sunday, March 19 instead of Thursday.
