Officials of the Ministry of Health say that the exports of the country’s pharma industry have increased in the last financial year.
According to health ministry officials, pharma exports increased by a record 98.6 percent in 2022-23.
In the financial year 2022-23, the exports of the pharma industry were a record of 713 million dollars, of which 407 million dollars worth of surgical and medical devices and 306 million dollars worth of drugs were exported.
Exports of surgical instruments increased by 6.03%, pharma products by 25.16%.
Officials say that the pharma industry export target is one billion dollars in 2024-25.
Officials said that the significant increase in exports is due to the incentives given to the pharma industry, during the Corona epidemic, there was a significant increase in the exports of Pakistani medical equipment.
