The Punjab government has denied that cardiology facilities have been discontinued on health cards.
Caretaker Health Minister Punjab Dr. Javed Akram has said that the provincial government is entering into a new agreement with the State Life Insurance and cardiology facility will continue uninterruptedly on health card.
Dr. Javed Akram said that improvements are being made to provide more facilities through Sehat Card, they are not closing Sehat Card or limiting cardiology facilities.
The Caretaker Health Minister said that the fruits of Health Card should be delivered to the original beneficiaries.
It should be noted that earlier this news came out that the treatment of heart diseases on the health card was suspended in the private hospitals of Punjab, due to which heart surgeries including stents for heart patients in the private hospitals were stopped for an indefinite period.
The State Life Insurance Company had told all the private hospitals that from July 1, heart patients will not be treated on health cards in private hospitals.
