An anti-polio campaign was launched after the confirmation of polio virus in the environmental samples of Karachi.
According to the officials of the health department, the anti-polio campaign in different districts of Sindh will continue till June 25.
Officials have said that the target of vaccinating 1.8 lakh children under 5 years of age has been set during the campaign. The anti-polio campaign is being launched in 120 USCs of 9 districts of Sindh.
The health department says that the anti-polio campaign will be held in Hyderabad and Jamshoro, the polio campaign will be held in Central, Eastern, Kemari, Korangi, Malir, Southern and Western districts of Karachi.
Officials said that more than 10,000 polio workers are participating in the anti-polio campaign, 2,200 police personnel will be deployed to protect the polio workers.
