Doctors in Sri Lanka removed the world’s largest kidney stone by performing an operation.
The operation to remove the world’s largest and heaviest kidney stone took place on June 1 at the Army Hospital in Colombo.
During the operation, a stone weighing 801 grams was removed from the retired soldier’s kidney, which was 5.26 inches long and 5 times the weight of a normal average kidney.
Guinness World Records recognized the extracted stone as the largest stone in the world.
Earlier, according to Guinness World Records, in 2008, a stone weighing 620 grams was removed from the kidney of a patient in Pakistan.
