To control the increasing cases of skin cancer in the Netherlands, the government has decided to distribute ‘sunblock cream’ free of cost to the citizens.
According to the government, dispensers filled with sunscreen creams will be installed in schools, universities, festivals, parks, sports and all public places.
The government said it wants to give all citizens access to sunblock.
Officials hope that with this campaign, all citizens will make it a habit to apply sun block cream.
A skin doctor had suggested to the government that sun block cream dispensers could be installed like dispensers for sanitizers.
Cases of skin cancer have increased rapidly over the past two decades across Europe.
Central Europe recorded unusually high temperatures this week, which is likely to continue in the coming weeks.
The main cause of skin cancer is exposure to the harmful rays of the sun for a long time.
