Pakistan Cricket Board is working on the new central contract of national cricketers.
The contract will be finalized after captain Babar Azam’s return home and consultation with senior players.
As the central contracts of the national cricketers expire on June 30, the PCB has started working on new contracts for the next one-year period.
In this regard, the sources say that there is a possibility of extensive changes in the central contract and promotion and demotion of national cricketers, while many cricketers will also lose the central contract.
Consultations are being held on the continuation of red ball and white ball categories, last year PCB introduced separate categories of red ball and white ball cricket.
Red and White Ball included A, B and C plus Emerging categories.
Former captain Azhar Ali is out of contract as he retires while Fawad Alam, Yasir Shah, Nouman Ali, Khushdil Shah, Usman Qadir and Zahid Mahmood are struggling to retain their contracts.
Iftikhar Ahmed, Saeem Ayub, Ehsanullah, Osama Mir and Zaman Khan will be given contracts while Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah will get contract promotion.
