The Pakistan Rugby Union has appointed South African coach Gat Mulder as the head coach for the two Division One matches against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Lahore on July 4 and 8.
Secretary Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) Salman Sheikh says that in Division Two won by Thailand in 2022, coach Gat Mulder coached the victorious Pakistan team.
It should be noted that this year Asia Rugby handed over the hosting of Division One Championship to Pakistan Rugby Union.
Gat Mulder joined the Pakistan Rugby team in Lahore yesterday. The Pakistan Rugby Union was working on the fitness of the players for the national team for the last two months.
The winning team from Pakistan and UAE will also qualify for the Asia Rugby Championship.
The chances of qualifying for the World Cup in Australia in 2027 will also increase for the winning team.
