The Punjab government has released the details of the women arrested in the May 9 incidents.
Caretaker Information Minister Punjab Aamir Mir rejected the allegations leveled by Tehreek-e-Insaaf regarding women prisoners and said that they cannot even imagine ill-treatment of women.
He said that the propaganda of mistreatment of women in jails by a political party is a lie.
The provincial minister added that a total of 32 women were arrested in the May 9 incidents, 21 of them have been released.
He said that 11 women are imprisoned in different jails of Punjab on judicial remand.
Aamir Mir also said that action is being taken according to law against women involved in terrorist activities.
He said that the government is the biggest bearer of women’s rights, Islam also teaches us to honor and respect women. Can’t even imagine mistreatment of women.
