An unknown person drove a car at the gate of the British Prime Minister's residence

An unknown person crashed a car at the gate of Downing Street, the residence of the British Prime Minister in London, after which there was a commotion.

According to foreign media, the police detained an unidentified man on charges of criminal negligence and dangerous driving while searching the vehicle. Security forces immediately surrounded the area.

Prime Minister Rishi Shankar was present at the residence at the time of the incident but left for a scheduled visit shortly after. No one was reported injured in the incident.

Downing Street is a sensitive location in London that has been closed to the public since the 1970s.
