In the Islamabad High Court, Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri heard the contempt of court petition filed by the nephew of the arrested Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed.
During the hearing, Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyers Naeem Haider Panjotha and Intizar Haider Panjotha appeared before the court.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri asked him which order has been violated? You had only challenged the notice, not the FIR.
The lawyer requested that contempt of court action should be taken against SHO Abpara for disobeying the court order.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri said that there was no FIR at that time only the notice was suspended.
The lawyer said that at that time the police had started an inquiry on which an FIR was filed, on the basis of which the police had issued a summon notice which was suspended by the court.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri said that the court had not stopped the registration of FIR, the court had suspended the notice. was stopped, nor was your request.
The court asked Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyer to read the petition and asked what was requested in your petition.
Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyer replied that the order gave the impression that if the matter is in the court, the institutions will show restraint.
Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri said that I wish there was such respect, here in one case bail is given and in another case it is lifted.
The court issued notices to the police, attorney general and advocate general on the contempt petition and adjourned the hearing of the case till Monday.
