Washington: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit America next month, but before that, America has urged India to condemn religious violence against minorities.
The State Department released an annual report on religious freedom detailing attacks on religious minorities, including Muslims and Christians, led by Modi’s Hindu nationalists.
A senior US official said he was “dismayed” by the continuation of religious violence in India. “We are constantly pressuring India to condemn religious violence and hold accountable (those) who use inhumane rhetoric against religious minorities,” he said.
