Pakistan's decision to obtain monkeypox vaccine from WHO


Due to fears of monkeypox outbreak in Pakistan, the National Health Organization has decided to procure monkeypox vaccine from the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to the officials of the National Institute of Health, the National Institute of Health Islamabad has sought technical assistance from the World Health Organization in this regard.

Frontline healthcare workers will be vaccinated.

20 suspected monkeypox samples are being tested in the National Institute of Health Islamabad.

Suspected patients coming to Pakistan from all over the world are being monitored.

Evicted Pakistanis from all over the world are also being monitored.

Officials of the National Institute of Health also say that every month about 3 to 4 thousand Pakistanis return to Pakistan after being evicted from foreign countries.
