Malaria infections, deaths rise sharply in Pakistan

The head of the Global Fund, Peter Sands, has said that deaths from malaria infection in Pakistan and Malawi have increased sharply due to the effects of extreme weather.

According to the World Health Organization, the cases of malaria infection have increased 4 times to 16 lakh after last year’s floods in Pakistan.

On the other hand, the head of the World Fund, Petersands, has said that malaria cases have increased in Malawi due to torrential rains, and work is still needed to end the worsening malaria situation.

Peter Sands adds that ponds in Pakistan, Malawi have become ideal breeding grounds for malaria mosquitoes.
