Pakistan offers to sell shares of 5 companies to UAE

Pakistan has offered to sell the shares of 5 state-owned enterprises of the country to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to Finance Division sources, UAE has been offered shares in PIA, National Bank, OGDC, PPL and Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.

The UAE’s investment in public sector enterprises was discussed during Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s recent visit.

UAE expressed interest in airport management of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad and investing in 5 state-owned enterprises.

In Shahbaz Sharif’s visit, the UAE promised to give new loans of $1 billion and it was also agreed to roll over existing loans of $2 billion.
