Nepal cricketer Asif Sheikh has been given the Spirit of Cricket Award for the year 2022.
Ireland’s Andy McBrien fell while running for a run after which wicketkeeper Asif Shaikh did not run him out.
This T20 match was played between Nepal and Ireland during February 2022.
England’s Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes were declared eligible for the award by the judges.
The Spirit of Cricket Award was instituted by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in 2013 in memory of former MCC President Christopher Martin Jencks.
In December 2022, nominations were first invited from the public for this award.
