Hyderabad Deccan: In India, more than 300 small and big stones have been recovered from the kidney of a 75-year-old man, which even experts are surprised by.
An elderly farmer from Karimnagar was brought to the Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU) in Hyderabad after complaining of severe kidney pain. So the doctors immediately did an X-ray and a CT scan, which revealed that the patient had kidney stones in the form of a cluster.
Dr. Tif Bandigeri said that the size of kidney stones is usually 7 to 15 mm, but many stones up to seven centimeters were seen in this patient’s body, which caused severe pain to the patient and kept him restless.
However, the patient was also suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and heart disease which made the disease more complicated. This is the reason why the doctors performed key hole surgery with modern laser technology and removed all the kidney stones. About 300 stones have been removed after this complex and tiring operation.
The patient was sent home the next day, where his health is rapidly improving.
