Peshawar High Court's order to postpone by-elections to National Assembly seats

The Peshawar High Court issued a notice to the parties while issuing an order postponing the by-elections to the National Assembly seats on March 16 and 19.

According to Express News, a hearing was held on the petitions filed by Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf against accepting the resignations of PTI members of the assembly and for postponing the by-elections, in which the court pronounced the previously reserved decision.

The Peshawar High Court in its decision postponed the by-elections to the National Assembly seats. The court issued an order suspending the election schedule for the by-elections to be held on March 16 and 19 and issued notices to the parties. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till March 7.

It should be noted that by-elections were to be held on a total of 24 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
