Nepal wicketkeeper Asif Sheikh has received the International Cricket Council (ICC) Spirit of Cricket Award 2022.
The award was given to Asif Sheikh in view of his excellent performance in the T20 match against Ireland on February 14, 2022.
In the 19th over of the match, the Irish batsman tried to play a high shot but failed, after which he took a run, while the Irish player running from the other end collided with the bowler and fell on the beach pitch.
Meanwhile, the bowler picked up the ball very quickly and threw it towards the wicketkeeper Asif Shaikh to run out the Irishman.
It can be seen in the video that the Irish player had given up and Asif Shaikh had plenty of time to get him out but he failed to do so as the batter fell.
According to reports, this act of Asif Sheikh was well appreciated in the cricket circles and he has been given an award for this act.
