Quetta: The Judicial Magistrate suspended the arrest warrant of Pashtun Khwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai and provided temporary relief till the next hearing.
After the arrest warrant was issued, the Quetta Bar Association president and other lawyers filed an application in the court on behalf of Mehmood Khan Achakzai and appeared during the hearing, on which the Judicial Magistrate issued a decision.
While presiding over the hearing, Judge Kamran Baloch granted the non-bailable arrest warrant and adjourned the hearing till May 31.

Mehmood Khan Achakzai’s lawyer, Advocate Qari Rehmatullah, argued that the allegations against his client were based on malice. He asserted that Achakzai was not even present in Quetta during the raid recorded in the FIR.
Naseebullah Kasi, one of the lawyers challenging Achakzai’s arrest warrant, told The Express Tribune, “The decision to suspend the arrest warrant was taken during the court session, in which the magistrate has stayed further proceedings on the warrant.”
