Saudi Arabia has indicated that it will not give financial aid without any conditions in the future. In an interview with a foreign news agency, the Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad Al-Jadaan, said that Saudi Arabia gives direct grants and deposits without any conditions, but this policy is now is being changed.
Now, instead of direct grants or deposits, the emphasis will be on reforming friendly countries.
Mohammed al-Jadaan said that Saudi Arabia is ready to negotiate to trade in currencies other than the US dollar. We are taxing our people and hope others do the same.
He added that we want to help but we also want friendly countries to work on their own. Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar and other Gulf countries are focusing more on investment rather than direct financial aid.
