Left arm spinner Sufyan Moqim has undergone an operation on his left knee in a private hospital in Lahore on Monday evening. The 24-year-old cricketer represented Pakistan in three T20 International matches at the Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China last year.
Sufyan was discharged from the hospital after the operation and was examined by a PCB medical panel headed by Dr Sohail Saleem at the National Cricket Academy today.
The surgeons will re-examine him after three days and PCB’s medical team will plan his rehabilitation accordingly.
PCB has borne all the medical expenses of Sufyan Moqim and will continue to support him in the future.
Director Medical and Sports Sciences Dr Sohail Saleem says Sufyan is in good spirits after a successful operation.
He said that before the surgery, Sufyan had participated in a three-week pre-rehab at the National Cricket Academy under the guidance of trainers and a medical panel.
He said that PCB’s medical team will continue to monitor the progress of Sufyan’s recovery and provide full support in getting him fit to resume cricket.
