Polio virus has been confirmed in 14 environmental samples from different districts of the country.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, polio virus was found in 3 samples from Peshawar, 2 from Hyderabad and 2 from Karachi East.
According to the spokesman, the virus was found in one sample each from Karachi Central, Kemari and West.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Health says that the virus was reported in one sample each from Sukkur, Quetta, Kohat and Islamabad. The polio virus found in all the samples has come from across the border.
The spokesman further said that children can be protected only through polio vaccination, parents should administer polio drops to children under five years of age.
