Peshawar: The High Court suspended the Returning Officer appointed by the Election Commission.
Justice Fazal Subhan of Peshawar High Court heard the petition against the appointment of the Returning Officer of Constituency PK 91 Kohat of the Provincial Assembly. and now Irfan Marwat has been appointed in his place.
The petitioner’s counsel told the court that the Election Commission itself has banned the transfer of postings. Usman Ashraf is the Returning Officer, another Returning Officer was brought in his place.
Later, the court suspended the declaration of appointment of Irfan Marwat as Returning Officer PK 61 on the petition of former Deputy Speaker Imtiaz Qureshi and former MPA Dawood Shah against appointment of Returning Officer.
