The head of Punjab anti-polio program, Khizr Afzal, says that there is a fear of polio spreading in the districts of Punjab bordering other provinces.

Khizr Afzal informed the meeting held under his chairmanship that 6 polio cases have been reported from all over Pakistan.

He said that 183 environmental samples have come positive, but Punjab is still free of polio cases, but there is a fear of polio virus returning to Punjab due to population movement.

The head of the Punjab Anti-Polio Program issued instructions to check the micro-plan in the districts where the quality of the campaign is unsatisfactory, to cover children deprived of vaccines at specific sites, to ensure coverage at immunization sites. .

He said that Faisalabad and Okara should immediately send a report on the use of vaccines, action will be taken against negligent officers and workers.

Khizr Afzal also said that during the polio campaign, children deprived of immunization have been identified.
