Peshawar: In Peshawar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, incidents of violence against women have increased by 100% compared to last year.
According to the documents, Bolo Helpline received a total of 2,587 calls from women across the province in 2022, while 5,465 cases of violence against women were reported this year.
Peshawar topped the list of violence against women in the province, where 581 cases were reported. Abbottabad came second with 76 calls. There were 75 cases in Swabi, 4 in Swat, 60 in Charsadda, 17 in Bannu, 14 in Malakand, Mansehra and Dir.
The documents revealed that cases have also come up in other districts of the province, while legal aid has been provided to 339 women in various cases. In 411 cases of violence against women, services were referred and 879 women were psychologically counselled.
