Lahore: Traffic Police Punjab made history by issuing more than 74 thousand licenses in a single day.
Additional IG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig has established a monitoring center in the traffic headquarters, after which the performance of driving license and challan is being reviewed moment by moment.
Yesterday traffic police issued more than 74000 driving learner permits across Punjab. More than 24000 licenses were issued in Lahore, the most among all the districts of Punjab.
The Traffic Police has increased the number of staff as well as the duty hours in the Licensing Centers in view of the rush.
Additional IG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig said that other districts of Punjab are also working very hard. There is a lot of rush in driving centers after the crackdown on young drivers.
Due to ongoing crackdown in Lahore, citizens visited the offices in large numbers to obtain driving license even on a holiday.
Traffic police issued 02 lakh 80 thousand 518 new learner permits in the month of November. More than 82 thousand citizens got their learner permit renewed. 19 thousand 761 citizens got new licenses while 18 thousand 312 got their licenses renewed. 1623 international licenses, 01 thousand 817 duplicate licenses were issued.
