Islamabad: A unique incident in the history of Pakistan has taken place, in which the donated organs of a deceased woman saved 3 lives.
Doctors of Rawalpindi-based Safari Hospital transplanted two patients with the help of kidneys donated by the deceased, giving both of them a new lease of life.
Deceased woman Rafat Zartaj’s liver was transplanted in PKLI, with the help of which a patient named Omar Khayyam was transplanted, similarly twenty-eight-year-old Ahsan Jameel and fifty-year-old Major Rukhsana were also transplanted due to the organs donated by the woman. Life is found.
The deceased’s brother Dr. Fahad Abbas said that “Rifat Zartaj had made a will to donate her organs in 2012” while her daughter Dr. Noor Al Huda said that my mother’s wish was fulfilled by Bahria Town Safari Hospital doctors.
Vice Chairman of the hospital, Air Commodore (Rtd) Muhammad Ilyas said that I pay my respects to the woman who donated the organs, we are very happy that the historic transplant took place in Bahria Town.
The doctor said that the patients to whom the deceased woman’s organs were transplanted are recovering.
A patient, Ahsan Jameel, said, “I was suffering from kidney disease for 10 years,” while patient Rukhsana said that everyone should make a will to donate their organs.
The administrator of Safari Hospital appealed to the government to encourage the practice of organ donation to curb the illegal transplant business.
