Hajj Mission; The Sindh government has made an important demand from the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs

Karachi: The Sindh government made an important demand from the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding Hajj mission services.

Caretaker Provincial Minister of Law and Religious Affairs Umar Soomro has written a protest letter to the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs and Harmony, in which it has been said that the employees of the Sindh government should also be included in the deployment for Makkah-Madinah Hajj mission services.

He said that under the Ministry of Religious Affairs scheme for welfare staff, provinces are competent to appoint administrative affairs in Hajj mission. When the provincial quota is allocated, why is it not implemented? The provinces are not given a share in the deployment of government employees in Saudi Arabia as servants in the Federal Hajj Mission.

The letter states that every year under the Hajj policy, more than 300 federal employees are posted in Makkah and Madinah to serve the pilgrims during the obligatory Hajj, but the federal government does not call a single employee from Sindh to serve the pilgrims.

The caretaker provincial minister said that more pilgrims can go for Hajj in the coming year 2024 compared to last year. Considering the high number of pilgrims, more employees will be required for the Hajj mission. He demanded that after the 18th amendment, the employees of the Provincial Department of Religious Affairs should also be included in the appointment to be made for the services during the Hajj Mission in Makkah Madinah.
