Karachi: Unknown suspects opened fire and killed the muezzin of the mosque in Bihar Colony area of Orangi Town.
According to the details, 35-year-old Maulana Rahimullah was riding a motorcycle near the wedding hall in Bihar Colony area of Orangi Town when 2 accused persons shot and killed the motorcycle.
The rescue team immediately rushed the body of the deceased to Jinnah Hospital. According to the police, 2 shells of 9 mm pistol were found at the scene. The incident seems to be a sign of target killing.
According to the police, the accused did not take away any mobile phone or cash from the victim, which is with them, and they are investigating every aspect of the incident.
The brother of the victim told the media that Rahimullah, who was the muezzin of the local mosque, was going to the Naat Khwani program after offering prayers from the mosque, that he was killed on the way.
He further stated that the deceased was the father of a six-month-old son and did not belong to any political or religious party and was a resident of Orangi Town Bihar Colony.
