Federal Ministry of Health Advisory on Congo Virus


The Federal Ministry of Health has issued an advisory related to the Congo virus.

The spread of Congo virus has accelerated in Balochistan, in view of which the Federal Ministry of Health has issued an advisory.

The Congolese virus is transmitted to cattle by tick bites, with the risk of infection being high among cattle and their keepers, the advisory said.

The Health Ministry’s advisory further stated that a person infected with Congo virus initially has diarrhea and cold.

The advisory also said that a person infected with the Congo virus becomes depressed in the second week of the illness.

In the advisory, the Ministry of Health said that citizens should protect themselves from cattle excreta and blood, use butcher and cattle-rearing gloves and full protective clothing.

It should be remembered that Congo virus first appeared in Pakistan in 1976.
