Karachi: Customs Intelligence Gwadar in collaboration with Frontier Corps Police recovered smuggled Indian gutka, chalia and foreign cigarettes worth Rs 13.12 lakh in Jam Colony Hub.
In this regard, Director Customs Intelligence Gwadar Moin Afzal said that in the raid operation, strong resistance was also faced by the local people and the local people blocked the road and pelted stones at the team.
He said that the raiding team with the cooperation of Frontier Corps and Police managed to take the recovered contraband to the government warehouse using 9 small trucks.
Moin Afzal said that in the raid, 31 tons of smuggled chalia worth Rs 10 crore 80 lakh, 6 lakh 30 thousand sachets of Indian gutka worth Rs 2 crore 79 lakh and 8 lakh 40 thousand cigarettes of various foreign brands worth Rs 25 lakh 20 thousand were recovered.
